HC Deb 04 December 1884 vol 294 cc639-40
MR. KENNY

asked the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, Whether he can give a Return for circulation showing all Papers, as well as all Correspondence with the Local Government Board, touching the election of Poor Law Guardians for the Dunfanaghy Union, county of Donegal, during the past two years?

MR. CAMPBELL-BANNERMAN

I do not think that any useful object would be gained by such a Return. I understand that the Correspondence relating to the elections throughout the Union is very voluminous, and that much of it relates to mere matters of routine, which could have no public interest. If the hon. Member will specify any particular electoral division in the election for which he is interested, the propriety of giving the Return for that division will be considered.
