HC Deb 04 April 1884 vol 286 cc1645-6
MR. W. J. CORBET

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Depart- ment, If he can find out how many British subjects, who were insane or alleged to be insane, have been conveyed away from the United Kingdom and confined in lunatic asylums in Foreign Countries during the past ten years; and, whether any of the survivors of them are now of sound mind?

SIR WILLIAM HARCOURT

I have inquired of the Lunacy Commissioners, who tell me that there are no facts which they can get that would answer the Question of the hon. Member. I do not see how it is possible to discover those facts.
