HC Deb 21 May 1883 vol 279 cc577-8
MR. BIGGAR

asked the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, If he could explain the reason the Sub-Commissioners for the county of Cavan have not disposed of the cases in Drumcrow Colesmore, for which originating notices were served eighteen months ago, while cases entered at the same time have been decided many months ago by the county court judge?

MR. TREVELYAN

Sir, I am informed that the reason is the much greater pressure of business in the Court of the Sub-Commission than in the Civil Bill Court, there having been entered in the Sub-Commissioners' Court from the Union of Cavan 578 cases, while in the Civil Bill Court the number was only 100.
