HC Deb 03 May 1883 vol 278 cc1720-1
THE O'DONOGHUE

asked the Postmaster General, Whether arrangements have been made to connect the new parcel post system with France, Italy, and the, other Countries in the Postal Union; and, if so, when the extension of the system to the Continent will come into operation?

MR. FAWCETT

Sir, preliminary steps have been taken with the object of extending the advantages of the International Parcels Post to this country; but some time—at least several months —must elapse after the introduction of the Inland Parcels Post before the International Parcels Post could be brought into operation.
