HC Deb 26 June 1883 vol 280 c1555
MR. MONTAGUE GUEST

asked the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Whether his attention has been called to a statement of the Correspondent of the "Daily News," in the edition of yesterday, with regard to the Capitulations with Tunis, to the effect that an arrangement has been settled between France and this Country; and, if he will state what that arrangement is?

LORD EDMOND FITZMAURICE

Her Majesty's Government have been in communication with the Government of France, and have every reason to believe that a satisfactory settlement of this question will be arrived at; but they cannot at present make any further statement.
