HC Deb 21 June 1883 vol 280 c1150
SIR H. DRUMMOND WOLFF

asked the Prime Minister, Whether, considering the undertaking given by the Secretary of State for War in the last Session that the question of the re-appointment of the Standing Committees should be brought forward at a time when it could be fully discussed by the House, he would now state when he would be prepared to bring forward the question of the re-appointment of those Committees for next Session?

MR. GLADSTONE

No, Sir; I have not come to any resolution as to asking the House to consider that question at the present time; but, as the hon. Member intends to imply by his Question, a proposal will not be made without consulting the convenience of the House.

MR. GIBSON

said, a distinct promise was given that the question would be brought on before the end of July. [An hon. Member: Or October.]
