THE MARQUESS OF HARTINGTON, in reply said admissions to hospital of soldiers affected by contagious diseases had risen from 11.89 per 1,000 in the four weeks prior to the abolition of compulsory examination, to 17.40 per 1,000 in the four weeks since the abolition.
