§ SIR ARTHUR HAYTERNo, Sir; it is not proposed to make any change in the retired pay of the Veterinary Department. My hon. and gallant Friend is probably aware that the present rate of retired pay for a veterinary surgeon is one-half the rate of full pay of their rank at retirement after 20 years' service, and seven-tenths of the same after 25 years' service. It is not proposed to disturb these rates at present.
