HC Deb 06 November 1882 vol 274 c865
LORD ELCHO

asked the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs a Question, of which he had not given him Notice, with reference to the trial of Arabi Pasha. He wished to know, Whether the Government had any information to give the House with respect to the letters which appeared in The Times of that morning purporting to be transcripts of his papers by Mr. Broadley, and being communications on behalf of the Sultan to Arabi Pasha?

SIR CHARLES W. DILKE

Sir, we have heard nothing whatever from Her Majesty's Consul at Cairo on the subject.
