HC Deb 26 May 1882 vol 269 c1708
MR. FITZPATRICK

asked the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, Whether he can inform the House if there is much discontent existing among the officers of the Royal Irish Constabulary at being entirely excluded from the benefit of the recent grant of £180,000, to compensate that Force for its extra expense and labour during the past two years?

MR. TREVELYAN

Beyond the Questions asked in the House of Commons, I have not received any representations on the subject; and I have learnt by telegraph from the Inspector General that he has received no official communications in reference to it; but that he is aware there is disappointment among the officers.
