HC Deb 02 March 1882 vol 266 cc2039-40

Motion made, and Question proposed, That leave be given to bring in a Bill to prohibit the sale of Intoxicating Liquors on Sunday in Cornwall."—(Mr. Pendarves Vivian.)

SIR R. ASSHETON CROSS

I do not rise for the purpose of objecting to the introduction of this Bill; but I rise to enter a protest against any Bill being brought forward on a subject of this kind referring to a single county. When the Bill reaches another stage, it will be for the House seriously to consider whether any legislation of this kind ought to be passed.

Motion agreed to.

Bill ordered to be brought in by Mr. PENDARVES VIVIAN, Sir JOHN ST. AUBYN, Mr. AGAR-ROBARTES, and Mr. BORLASE.

Bill presented, and read the first time. [Bill 95.]
