HC Deb 30 June 1882 vol 271 c919
MR. T. P. O'CONNOR (for Mr. BIGGAR)

asked the Secretary to the Treasury, When he will be in a position to make an announcement respecting the case of the letter carriers of the United Kingdom; and, what is the cause of the long continued delay in arriving at a decision as to their claims?

MR. COURTNEY

Sir, I have more than once explained that this is a matter of much detail, which necessarily occupies a considerable space of time; but we are now on the eve, as I believe, of settling it. At present there are only one or two small questions remaining, as to which the Treasury are awaiting a communication from the Postmaster General on the subject.
