HC Deb 24 July 1882 vol 272 c1526
THE MARQUESS OF HARTINGTON

Sir, I have to give Notice that to-morrow, or on the earliest day in my power, I shall move the following Resolution:— That, Her Majesty having directed a Military Expedition of Her Forces charged upon the Revenues of India to be despatched for service in Egypt, this House consents that the Revenues of India shall be applied to defray the expenses of the Military operations which may be carried on by such Forces beyond the external frontiers of Her Majesty's Indian Possessions.

MR. O'DONNELL

I beg to give Notice that I shall move, as an Amendment to the noble Lord's Resolution— That it is unjust and iniquitous to charge the payers of income-tax in India with the expenses of a European war entered into most unjustly by Her Majesty's Government.
