HC Deb 17 July 1882 vol 272 c720
MR. STANSFELD

asked the Prime Minister, Whether he could say what chance there was of Wednesday being at the disposal of private Members, and of that Bill in which he (Mr. Stansfeld) was especially interested, and which was down as the first Order for to-day, being brought in?

MR. GLADSTONE

said, he could not give a positive assurance on this subject, as the order of Business depended on the progress made with the Arrears of Rent Bill. If the Committee on this Bill was closed to-night, then he hoped the Bill, as amended, would be in the hands of Members to-morrow morning, and in that case he proposed that the Report should be taken on Wednesday; but if the Committee were not finished till Tuesday, then the Report stage would not be taken till Thursday, in which case Wednesday would bo left to his right hon. Friend.
