HC Deb 11 August 1882 vol 273 c1519
GENERAL SIR GEORGE BALFOUR

asked the Secretary to the Admiralty, If the Admiralty will now begin forming valuation statements of the new supplies for the armament and reserves and Military equipment of the ships of the Navy, commencing with the armament of the "Inflexible," so that in time the cost and quantities of the complete supplies of guns and stores of every description furnished at the cost of the War Office may be on record?

MR. CAMPBELL-BANNERMAN

We fully appreciate the usefulness of such a record as my hon. and gallant Friend suggests; but I cannot give any definite assurance at present that it will be commenced. We will communicate with the War Office on the subject, and I can promise my hon. and gallant Friend that the matter will not be lost sight of.
