asked the Secretary of State for War, Whether he will consider the twenty-eight days' additional training of the Militia (practically putting two years' training into one) a reason for giving the men the £1 bounty as well as the pay?

MR. CHILDERS

No, Sir. A militiaman is liable to serve for 56 days, and I see no reason for the suggestion that he should receive extra bounty for service to which he is liable, and for which he is paid.
