New Clause— A corporation or municipal body shall not make any such grant without the consent in writing of the Secretary of State for the Home Department, where such consent is now required by any existing Act of Parliament,"—(Mr. Whitley,)brought up, and read the first time.

Motion made, and Question proposed, "That the said Clause be now read a second time."

MR. HIBBERT

moved, as an Amendment, that the words "Home Secretary" should be omitted in order to insert "the Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury."

Amendment to proposed new Clause agreed to.

Clause, as amended, read a second time, and added to the Bill.

House returned.
