HC Deb 29 March 1881 vol 260 c154
MR. C. M'LAREN

asked the President of the Board of Trade, Whether he has considered the Report of the Select Committee on Hall-marking, 1879, and Mr. Hankey's Draft Report, which was supported by three Members of the present Government; and, whether the Government will deal with the question of Hall-marking in the present Session of Parliament?

MR. CHAMBERLAIN

The whole subject has been carefully considered by the Board of Trade, and a Bill is being drafted; but, considering the present block of Public Business, there is little hope of its introduction this Session.
