He would not have troubled the right hon. Gentleman with the Question, if the reported speeches had not contained serious charges against a gentleman concerned.
§ MR. MUNDELLA, in reply, said, his attention had been called to a statement which filled nearly two columns of the newspaper. The deputation consisted of a very few persons, and he did not know how such a report of what was stated to have taken place could have been made, as no speeches were made. Instead of making speeches to the Education Department, the deputation must have sent them to the local newspaper.
