HC Deb 09 March 1881 vol 259 cc696-7

Resolution [March 8] reported.

Resolution read a second time.

MR. FINIGAN

objected to the Resolution being reported, now that it was past the hour for opposed Business.

MR. SPEAKER

The hon. Member must be aware that this is simply a Resolution brought up to the House to give effect to what has already been agreed to by the Committee.

MR. FINIGAN

objected to it.

MR. SPEAKER

The hon. Member's objection is too late.

MR. A. M. SULLIVAN

I object.

LORD RANDOLPH CHURCHILL

, rising to a point of Order, said, the Resolution had not yet been put to the House.

MR. A. M. SULLIVAN

wished to know whether it would be in Order for any hon. Member to propose an Amendment until the Motion had been put from the Chair?

MR. SPEAKER

I have now to put the Question that this House do agree with the Committee in the said Resolution.

Motion made, and Question proposed, "That the House doth agree with the Committee in the said Resolution."

MR. SEXTON

I object to it.

MR. SPEAKER

Then it will have to stand over until to-morrow.

And Further Proceeding thereupon stood adjourned till To-morrow.
