HC Deb 07 March 1881 vol 259 c422
SIR ROBERT CUNLIFFE

asked the Vice President of the Council, If he is able to state when the Report of the Departmental Commission upon Higher and Intermediate Education in Wales, presided over by Lord Aberdare, will be laid upon the Table; and if he can hold out any hope that the Government will be able to deal with the subject in the course of this Session?

MR. MUNDELLA

I understand that this Commission has completed its inquiry, having examined nearly 300 witnesses, and is now considering its Report. As, however, the Report cannot be presented to the Education Department for several weeks to come, I can hold out no prospect that it can be considered by us in time to found legislation upon it during the present Session.
