HC Deb 18 February 1881 vol 258 cc1232-3
MR. HALSEY

asked the Secretary of State for War, Whether it is his intention to remove the head-quarters of the Hertfordshire Militia to the Depot Centre at Bedford?

MR. CHILLERS

Sir, in reply to the hon Member, I have to state that, under the Localization Act of 1872, the Hertfordshire Militia should have its headquarters at Bedford Brigade Depot; but the question of the removal of this and other Militia regiments to brigade depots is under the special consideration of a Committee at the War Office.
