HC Deb 15 February 1881 vol 258 cc1729-30
MR. DE LA POER BERESFORD

asked the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, Whether it is the intention of the Government to comply with the request of the Towns' Commissioners and Local Magistrates of Armagh, as expressed in their memorial addressed to him on the 11th August 1880, and establish a police station at the Shambles, Lower English Street, in the city of Armagh?

MR. W. E. FORSTER,

in reply, said, that the matter had been very carefully considered by the Irish Government last autumn, and that they had come to the conclusion that they could not make any change at present in the position of the police station at Armagh. That decision had been communicated to the Town Commissioners on the 8th of October last.
