HC Deb 14 February 1881 vol 258 c761
SIR CHARLES REED

asked the First Commissioner of Works, Whether the Botanical and Mineralogical Collections have been removed from the British Museum to the Museum of Natural History at South Kensington, and when the new museum will be open to the public?

MR. SHAW LEFEVRE

Sir, I am informed by the Trustees of the British Museum that both the Botanical and Mineralogical Collections have been already removed from the British Museum to the new Museum of Natural History at South Kensington, and are now being arranged there. It is expected that these Collections will be open to the public on the next Bank Holiday—namely, Easter Monday, April 18.
