HC Deb 04 February 1881 vol 258 cc165-6
Mr. J. HOWARD

asked the First Commissioner of Works, Whether, with a view to the convenience of Members, as well as to securing their more constant attendance at the House, it is possible to provide a number of small private rooms which should be let by tender at the commencement of each Session?

MR. SHAW LEFEVRE,

in reply, said, he was afraid he could hold out no prospect that the proposal of the hon. Member would be carried out. In the first place, there were no rooms available for the purpose; and he thought, further, that it would be a very invidious thing for Members of the House to have chambers there.
