HC Deb 28 March 1879 vol 244 cc1989-90
MR. CALLAN

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department, Whether any memorial was presented from the convict Theodoridi himself, praying for a commutation of his sentence; and, if so, what were the special grounds stated in it?

MR. ASSHETON CROSS,

in reply, said that no memorial from Theodoridi had been presented to him, except through the Turkish Ambassador. One of the principal statements in it had reference to the convict's state of health, and that was untrue.
