HC Deb 18 July 1879 vol 248 c753
MR. J. BROWN

asked the Secretary of State for War, Under what conditions successful candidates at the coming examination in August will enter the Army Medical Department; whether under the Warrant now in force, limiting their service to ten years, or under a new Warrant, which has been promised, but is not yet published?

COLONEL STANLEY

, in reply, said, the usual Notice had been given. He hoped that by that time the new Warrant now under the consideration of the Treasury, and which in substance carried out a good many of the recommendations of the Medical Committee of last year, would have been issued; but if it were not, the examinations would be held under the old one.
