HC Deb 10 July 1879 vol 248 c24
MR. DILLWYN

asked Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer, Whether any and what steps have been taken with regard to the contract with Messrs. Hansard for printing for the House of Commons, and which will expire in the course of the present Year?

THE CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUER,

in reply, said, there had been a good deal of correspondence between the Treasury, the Speaker, and Messrs. Hansard, with regard to the contract for printing for the House of Commons, in order to obtain a more favourable contract for the public; but the corre-pondence was still going on, and no arrangement had yet been concluded. The correspondence would be produced before any contract was signed.
