HC Deb 14 August 1879 vol 249 c979
MR. CALLAN (for Mr. GRAY)

asked the Secretary to the Treasury, Whether superintendent registrars of births, deaths, and marriages in England are allowed a fee of 5s. for each index to a register book prepared by them; and, whether any similar fee is allowed for the discharge of a similar duty in Ireland?

SIR HENRY SELWIN-IBBETSON

Sir, the fees paid to the superintendent registrars in England are 7s., not 5s., for each index. No similar fee is paid to superintendent registrars in Ireland.
