MR. SHAW LEFEVRE

complained of the enormous compensation given for the property acquired by the Metropolitan Board under the Act of 1875, and also of the exorbitant sums charged in the shape of fees by arbitrators.

MR. ASSHETON CROSS

observed, that ample provision was taken in the Bill to remedy all the defects of the existing Act, and to prevent the public money being in future extravagantly expended.

Bill considered in Committee, and reported, without Amendment; read the third time, and passed.
