HC Deb 02 August 1879 vol 248 c2026

Order for Committee read.

MR. CHARLEY

I think we ought to have some explanation with regard to this Bill. It seems to make an alteration in the Law of Registration in Ireland from that existing in England.

MR. CALLAN

Let me explain. The Bill is simply to remove disabilities which have been found to exist, but which were never intended by the Act. If we are allowed to go into Committee I do not propose to proceed further. I only wish to give time for the consideration of Amendments.

MR. J. LOWTHER

The Bill appears to me to be a harmless one, especially under those conditions.

Billconsidered in Committee.

(In the Committee.)

Committee report Progress; to sit again upon Tuesday next.
