§ SIR HENRY SELWIN-IBBETSONtook that opportunity of fulfilling a promise he had made to the hon. Member for Kendal (Mr. Whitwell), by explaining that, practically, the numbers of the Supplemental Civil List clerks were identical. It had been found necessary to alter the number of clerks in one particular branch, but the total was the same as before; and, at the present moment, the salaries of some of them were below those of their predecessors.
