I wish to ask the right hon. Gentleman the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Whether the Government have received information that a Treaty of Peace between Turkey and Russia has been signed?

THE CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUER

Yes, Sir, the Government have received information, in the course of this afternoon, both from our Ambassador at St. Petersburg and from our Ambassador at Constantinople, that the Treaty of Peace was signed yesterday afternoon.

SIR WILLIAM FRASER

Can the right hon. Gentleman inform the House what are the conditions of peace?

THE CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUER

No. The Government have received some communications, but they are not in a sufficiently perfect state to be presented to the House at present.
