asked the honourable Member for Cavan, If he will state to the House the terms of the Resolution respecting the Irish Magistracy which he has given Notice of his intention to move on the 17th of July?

Sir, the terms of it are —That, in order to secure greater confidence in the administration of justice in Ireland, some regard should be had to the appointment of magistrates, and no member of the Orange Society should be appointed.
