§ MR. W. H. SMITHSir, the opinion of the Law Officers upon the powers of the Commissioners of Woods to sell land in Dean Forest has been received, and is to the effect that the Commissioners are at liberty to put a wider interpretation than they have hitherto done upon the clause of the Act 10 Geo. IV., c. 50, which defines these powers. The Commissioners are prepared to act at once upon this opinion, and will instruct the Deputy Surveyor of the Forest to set out in lots for sale parcels of land conveniently situated for 971 miners' dwellings as occasion may require. The first piece of land will be set out immediately.
