ERRINGTONasked the Secretary of State for War, Whether it is not the case that in some thirty-five Militia Regiments the posts of Surgeon or Assistant Surgeon, or both, are vacant, owing to the appointments having been suspended for more than a year "pending new regulations;" and, if he will state, for the convenience of candidates waiting for appointments, how soon the vacancies are likely to be filled up?
Mr. GATHORNE HARDYanswered the first Question in the affirmative, and added that it was not intended to fill up the vacancies until the Militia Warrant, now under consideration, had been confirmed. It would not be long before this took place.
