HC Deb 03 May 1875 vol 223 c1956
MR. BRIGGS

asked the Postmaster General, If he is aware that the accommodation at the Blackburn Post Office is and has been for some years insufficient; if he will state the Resolution arrived at by Her Majesty's Government with regard to the proposed new site; and, whether he can give an assurance that immediate steps will be taken by the Government to provide commodious and convenient Postal and Telegraphic Offices for the town?

LORD JOHN MANNERS

, in reply, said, he was informed that the accommodation at Blackburn post office was insufficient. The Post Office authorities had been for some time in negotiation for a new site, as to the acquirement of which certain difficulties had existed. Those difficulties had been, however, he believed, overcome, and no time would be lost in providing suitable offices as mentioned in the Question of the hon. Member.
