asked the Secretary of State for War, Whether the Adjutants of Militia who decline to avail themselves of the new retirement scheme, and who are required to perform the same military duty as other officers belonging to the Brigade Depôt, will be allowed to retain their relative rank in the Army

, in reply, said, that the position of Adjutants of Militia under the circumstances to which the Question referred had not yet been absolutely decided upon, but that notice of the result would be given prior to the 1st of October of this year.
