asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department, If the representations made by the Officers of Her Majesty's Convict Service as to the hours of duty they are called upon to perform will be taken into consideration by the Commission upon the Civil Service; and, what arrangements have been made for taking their evidence upon the subject?

, in reply, said, that so far as he was aware no formal representations had been' made. A representation had been made with reference to certain regulations which were laid down by the late Government by some association; but so far as he was aware no formal complaint had been made on the subject.
