HC Deb 18 May 1874 vol 219 c391
SIR EDWARD WATKIN

asked the Secretary of State for War, Whether the rumour is correct that the depôt of the second battalion 22nd (Cheshire) Regiment, which arrived in Chester (its local centre) on the 10th October 1873, is to be removed into another county?

MR. GATHORNE HARDY

The Depôt, 2nd battalion 22nd, is attached to 1st battalion, now at home, and consequently moves with it. The 1st battalion has been in its county town for some time, and it is now necessary to move it, and the Depôt 2nd battalion goes with it until the Brigade Depôt Buildings at Chester are completed.
