§ MR. BOURKESir, our information as to the transaction in question is at present incomplete. It is, however, perfectly true that the British Minister in Chili has demanded the release of Captain Hyde, imprisoned by the Chilian authorities, on the ground that the arrest was illegal; but we are not informed as to the nature of the offence alleged to have been committed by Captain Hyde. Further than that we have no information.
