HC Deb 16 July 1874 vol 221 c125
SIR HENRY DRUMMOND WOLFF

asked Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer, Whether Her Majesty's Government have come to the determination to follow the precedent established by the Act 18 & 19 Vic. c. 77, and are about to bring in a Bill enabling the Treasury to distribute the sum payable to Her Majesty's Government, by the United States, under the final award of the late Mixed Claims Commission?

THE CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUER

, in reply, said, that it was not considered necessary to pass an Act on that subject. The greater portion of those claims would have to be paid in America—in Washington—between the months of October and December, and such as were not satisfied by December would be subsequently paid in this country.
