THE COMPTROLLER OF THE HOUSEHOLD (Lord OTHO FITZGERALD)reported Her Majesty's Answer to the Address [20th June], as follows:—
I have received your Address, praying that I will be pleased to disallow the Statute by which Membership of the Church of England is for the first time imposed as a qualification for appointment to the Governing Body of Harrow School.I shall signify my disapproval of that part of the Statute.
§ It being now Seven of the Clock, the House suspended its Sitting.
§ The House resumed its Sitting at Nine of the Clock.
