HC Deb 03 July 1871 vol 207 c999
MR. RYLANDS

asked the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs. If he can now give an assurance to the House that no portion of the Secret Service money has been applied during recent years to the payment of salaries or additions to salaries or pensions to persons connected with the Foreign Office and the Diplomatic and Consular Services?

VISCOUNT ENFIELD

I must inform the hon. Gentleman, in reply to his Question, that, according to the invariable practice, I can give no answer as to the disposition of the Secret Service money.
