THE MARQUESS OF HARTINGTONreplied that he had received an answer from the Postmaster General of the United States; but he was sorry to say it held out no hopes of any acceleration in the transmission of the mails from America as long as the packet companies refused to accept the remuneration which he was empowered by Congress to offer.
