HC Deb 05 August 1870 vol 203 c1580
MR. OSBORNE

said, he would beg to ask the Secretary of State for War, Whether any portion of the Supplementary Estimate of £2,000,000 will be expended in placing the batteries of the Field and Horse Artillery in an efficient state, as regards men, horses, and equipment?

MR. CARDWELL

Sir, I have no objection to state that, although the money is voted as a general Vote of Credit, some portion of it will undoubtedly be applied to the purposes mentioned by the hon. Member.
