HC Deb 04 May 1869 vol 196 cc101-2
SIR ROBERT ANSTRUTHER

said, he would beg to ask the Secretary of State for War, Whether, under instructions from the War Office, the authorities at the Horse Guards have issued any Order forbidding the marking of Soldiers a second time with the letter D; and whether there would be any objection to lay a Copy of such Order, if issued, upon the Table of the House?

MR. CARDWELL, in reply said, the Question of the hon. Gentleman correctly described the state of the case, and if the hon. Member would move for a Copy of the Circular it should be laid on the table.
