HC Deb 29 July 1869 vol 198 cc905-6
MR. BRUCE

appealed to the hon. Member for Dudley (Mr. H. B. Sheridan) and the hon. Member for Salford (Mr. Charley) to postpone the Motions of which they had given notice. He said the hon. Member for Dudley would have an opportunity to-morrow of bringing forward his Notice on the subject of the conduct of Assistant Judge Huggins of Sierra Leone, and the Question of the hon. Member for Salford, with reference to the Coronation Oath, had been answered already in a reply given by the Attorney General to the hon. Member for Brighton (Mr. White). It was very important that the House should at once go into Supply, with a view to all the Votes being got through that evening.

MR. H. B. SHERIDAN

expressed his readiness to yield to the request of the right hon. Gentleman, but hoped that the course he now took would be considered when the Question came before the House again.

MR. CHARLEY

said, he did not think his Question had been answered by the Attorney General in his reply to the hon. Member for Brighton; he would not detain the House more than a few minutes with his Question.
