said, he would beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury, If Her Majesty's Government will propose to Parliament any extension of the "Contagious Diseases Act, 1866," to places not mentioned in the first Schedule of that Act?

MR. GLADSTONE

said, that Government had under their consideration the course to be taken with respect to that Act, and would in a short time state the conclusion at which they had arrived.
