said, he would beg to ask the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, What steps Her Majesty's Government are taking in support of the claims of English shareholders in Turkish Railways for the arrears of interest due under the guarantee of the Turkish Government?

LORD STANLEY

replied that requisitions had been addressed to the Porte at various dates on the subject. The latest of those representations bore the date of the 11th of June last, and to that there had not been yet time to receive an answer.
